Course Description
Students will understand core components of the Industrial Revolution, The Age of New Imperialism, WWI, and the Interwar Years. The focus of the course is to identify ways in which historical events are connected while also understanding the similarities between past events and contemporary world issues. This is done through different aspects of social studies including international politics, migration, resources, and economics. Other aspects that will be covered include cultural development, public speaking, and political geography.
Outcomes
- Create projects to demonstrate understanding of historic events covered in the course.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of primary sources while analyzing the content to come to a deeper understanding of how people thought at the periods of history discussed in the course.
- Understand the chronological nature of historic events and how events of the past impact our world today
